Sydney will blood a sixth debutant this season when Harry Marsh faces the undefeated North Melbourne in Friday night's AFL match.
Marsh replaces Ted Richards (concussion) for the SCG fixture against a Roos side strengthened by the return of Daniel Wells.
Marsh spent three years on Sydney's list until delisted after last season - only to be redrafted via the rookie draft.
The 22-year-old was upgraded from the rookie list a week ago.
"I was obviously happy to be upgraded. I knew I was in contention for at least the next couple of weeks," he was quoted as saying on Sydney's website.
"But it was still a big shock."
Marsh follows George Hewett, Callum Mills, Tom Papley, Allir Allir and Jack Hiscox as players to debut for the Swans this season.
The Kangaroos summoned playmaker Wells after a two-game absence because of an achilles complaint and recalled Sam Wright, with Aaron Mullett and Farren Ray both dropped.
